Edmundo, our ceiling scraper got back into town Tuesday.
After doing a walk through with Michael, we settled on a price. By Wednesday, we had a bunch of materials sitting in our living room.
Presley decided to start drawing on some of the materials. We didn't think it would be a big deal, but we were told the next day that she did not need to play with any of it. Oops!
The crew scheduled to start working at 7 AM Thursday.
I made sure I was showered and dressed by 7. I still was working on my hair and makeup.
Our clothes, toiletries, and hair/makeup supplies are all still in our master bathroom. I assumed that since we plan to renovate that bathroom at some point in the future, we wouldn't be scraping anything in there this time. Apparently, Michael thought we should go ahead and scrape in there too. He had scheduled for Edmundo's crew to do that as well. But, we had not emptied out that bathroom.
As I'm straightening my hair, the guys come in and ask where they can move all of our clothes and bathroom stuff. I was like, um, what? My closet was so organized. I started panicking, because I just new it would all be a mess if these guys tried to take it all somewhere. I couldn't take time to do it that morning, because I would have been late to work.
I called Michael, we cleared up our miscommunication, and we end up asking if they can just put off doing the master bathroom for a day. They agreed to do that. So, no big deal.
But, if you plan to do this in the future. Make sure you completely empty the room where you plan to scrape the ceiling.
Thursday evening, we came home to this...
You just are never really prepared to see your entire house covered in plastic. I didn't empty Presley's closet either. It is actually sealed shut, so we can't get in there. Luckily, she's got enough of her stuff downstairs in her temporary bedroom, so she can last a couple of weeks in regular clothes.
But, when it snowed the next morning, we were ready to go out and play, and I couldn't find anything we needed. I didn't have access to her big coat or gloves. But, she was fine in her little Elmo sweater, and I finally found a pair of mittens, so we went outside and enjoyed the day.
Turns out, our house looks pretty good in the snow!
